The kite festival in Isla Blanca

The kite festival in Isla Blanca was held on February 24 and 25, a tradition that has been going on for nine years and that has grown year after year based on the participation and recognition of a larger national and international audience. This year’s edition was the largest so far.

Free to the public, both children and adults, armed, bought and enjoyed the flight of the kites with their families. The beaches of Isla Blanca are ideal for flying, since there is always a gentle wind.

This year, kite fliers from the United States, Canada and Cancun participated, where they joined together to fly the colorful kites.

The organizers of the kite festival on Isla Blanca are Roberto Reyes and Cira Caballero, local kite and aviator manufacturers from Cancun.

Cira Caballero flew its three arches, with a total of 145 comets. Its 18-foot spinning wheel and two sea horses also gave color to the festival.
